Mental Health Clinician
​

​The Child Witness to Violence Project is seeking a child mental health clinician to join our Child Safety Project team.  The clinician will provide assessments and treatment to court-involved children and caregivers who have been exposed to violence or conflict in their homes or communities. This position is full time. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children who have been exposed to trauma and/or working with families affected by violence.
 
The position provides a unique opportunity to work with a nationally recognized, leading and innovative program that utilize evidence-based practices to best support children and their families in the wake of traumatic experiences. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the clinician will have opportunities to engage in training and teaching activities at the hospital, as well as to interface with a wide variety of community agencies.
 
Responsibilities:
·         Provide assessments of young children affected by violence
·         Provide on-going individual, dyadic and/or family treatment
  • Provide training, outreach and consultation with collateral agencies and providers who are involved with the children seen at the Child Witness to Violence Project.
 
Requirements:
  • Requires a Master’s level degree in mental health field (social work, psychology, mental health counseling)
  • Licensure or license-eligible as social worker or mental health counselor (such as LICSW, LCSW, LMFT or LMHC)
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience in delivering mental health services to children impacted by trauma
  • Bi-lingual candidates, and/or candidates who represent the diverse communities of Boston, is a plus
 
The Mental Health Clinician will be an employee of Boston Medical Center and will receive benefits through the hospital.
